Mountain Mint: Slender (Pycnanthemum tenuifolium) - NEW!
Slender Mountain Mint “has clusters of showy white flowers with faint lavender spots that bloom in mid-to-late summer (July-September). It is best known for the multi-branching habit of stalks with very narrow, almost needle-like, silvery green leaves. This mint grows to be 2’-4’ tall and spreads rhizomatously to form small colonies. Pycnanthemum species can be aggressive, but they are also easily divided to control their spread. Slender Mountain Mint grows best in full or partial sun and prefers medium soils. Its natural habitat includes upland prairies and dry, rocky, open woods. Slender Mountain Mint does have a particularly strong mint aroma, especially when crushed or cut. Bees and butterflies love their flowers.” -Prairie Moon Nursery Full-Partial Sun, Medium Soil, Ht: 2 ft, Bloom Time: Jun-Sept

*** Most of the new native perennials will say "We have run out of stock for this item or it is out of season" for now, so we don't overpromise. If you would like to purchase one of our native varieties that says this, we urge you to click the "Notify Me when Available" button to get a notification emailed to you when we know we have some available for purchase.
This is because native plants have different growth habits than the other plants we start under grow lights. In fact, most of them need a long cold period in the soil before germinating in the spring or summer, or even a year after being sown. Therefore, it is a bit more challenging to predict when and how many will be ready for pick up in the spring.
