Early Spring Seedlings- Updating for 2025
The vegetables and flowers listed here prefer cooler growing conditions and will thrive in April and May- even through light frosts and cooler temperatures! Most leafy green veggies fall into this category, as do alliums, violas, and snapdragons.
In order for us to have these early spring seedlings ready for you in the latter part of April, we request that you
pre-order Early Spring Seedlings before
so that we can get them seeded, grown, and transitioned to the outside in time!
Spinach and lettuce love the cool temps and won't last through the summer, so it is best to plant them early. Members of the allium family (like onions, shallots, leeks, scallions) are daylight sensitive and also enjoy the cold. It is highly suggested that alliums be planted in mid-late April.
Most of these seedlings will also be available under the "Summer Beans, etc. " Collection for May pick up (with the exception of spinach, arugula, and tatsoi, which are only available in April).
All Early Spring Seedlings are offered in 4 packs with the exception of leeks, onions , shallots, and scallions which come in 4 in. pots (expect ~9* plants/pot for these).
All Daisy Hill Farm seedlings are grown organically and sustainably from seed or cutting with lots of love right here in Acton, MA. We use Johnny's 512 organic potting soil mix, clean containers. Neptune's Harvest organic fertilizer. and non-GMO (and organic–whenever possible) seed from high quality seed companies that we trust.
