Sorrel: Violet Wood (Oxalis violacea) - NEW!
Prairie Moon Nursery says: “Wood Sorrel is a low-lying (4"), shy native with small, bell-shaped violet flowers that become white with greenish lines near the blossom’s throat. Leaves and blossoms both open up to the sun, the latter exposing bright yellow anthers, and then fold with shade. Three oval-heart leaflets comprise each leaf. Native bees love this plant, which prefers well-drained soils. It will spread readily from bulb offshoots that form small colonies in a short amount of time.” This one is tough to germinate, so we hope to have it sometime in 2025, but it may not be ready until 2026…. Full-Part Sun, Medium-Medium Dry Soil, Ht: 4”, Bloom Time: April-June, Plant Spacing: 2-6”

*** Most of the new native perennials will say "We have run out of stock for this item or it is out of season" for now, so we don't overpromise. If you would like to purchase one of our native varieties that says this, we urge you to click the "Notify Me when Available" button to get a notification emailed to you when we know we have some available for purchase.
This is because native plants have different growth habits than the other plants we start under grow lights. In fact, most of them need a long cold period in the soil before germinating in the spring or summer, or even a year after being sown. Therefore, it is a bit more challenging to predict when and how many will be ready for pick up in the spring.
