Strawberry: Wild (Fragaria virginiana)

Native Perennial.  This small plant makes a great ground cover and bonus-produces little strawberries in the middle of summer!

I used to search the back yard of my childhood home in NH for these beauties and loved finding the patches that would flower and fruit in the summer.  They were very small and perfect for small juicy bites while playing in the yard.  

We started these from seed in January 2024, and very few are ready this fall, but we hope to have many more next season!

Height: 4”, Adaptable to many conditions: sun to shade and medium to dry soil.
